it was a lie.
Okay, maybe it's dependent on the country that you go to. Also, i am doing modules according to interest so it's undeniably a little more challenging cos doing things you like come at a cost right?
I'm a social work major in NUS, but am mapped as a biological science major here as they do not have any arts majors here. It's fine because i have to clear some modules outside of my major so it turns out all well (that's if i pass my bio mods here).
I would often give the excuse that "i'm a science student." when i wasnt doing so well in an arts faculty, now that i'm given the brilliant opportunity to show off how much of a science student i am, i'm not so sure anymore.
L-DOPA, diencephalon, melencephalon, nigrostriatal system, corpus callosum, ephmoidal space, noradrenergic, raphe nuclei, astrocytes, axoaxonic, arachnoid membrane, coronary sulcus, gyrus, culci, pons, medulla oblongata... that's when i realised Biology is another language altogether.
Don't get me wrong! I do actually enjoy learning about the body! Although these two modules are so advanced that i often find myself on wikipedia and youtube looking for explanations to the textbook i am already referring to, i really enjoyed learning the mechanisms behind optical illusions, about our brain, about how our vision come about (from eyes to brain), how our auditory system works and the heart-est one - learning about the cardiac activity.
Learning more about our body just makes me even more amazed at our wonderful Creator.
Also, on this exchange, i thank God for giving me the opportunity to do so many things i wanted to before. It's like a trial period for 'Becoming a Doctor' or 'Staying on Campus'. I've gotta start counting my blessings.
